HYPNOTHERAPY - CHILDBIRTH

A baby's foot
You will be taught self-hypnosis for Childbirth.

One of the pioneers of ‘NATURAL CHILDBIRTH ‘ was Dick-Reed. He believed that some thing as natural as childbirth should not be painful.

One of his beliefs was that the expectation of pain leads to fear, which leads to tension and inevitably pain.

FEAR –> PAIN –> TENSION –> FEAR –> PAIN –> TENSION.

He believed the fear simply came from are cultural thinking.

There are many reported benefits of using Hypnosis for Childbirth, here are a few:

· Improved sleep prior to birth and afterwards.

· Removal of fear and anxiety.

· An awake energised mother due to total relaxation throughout the birthing process.

· A calm peaceful birthing atmosphere.

· Breech and posterior babies can be turned using hypnosis.

Partners are encouraged to attend. However a birthing partner can be any one chosen by the expectant mother- husband, partner, sister, friend, maybe mother. This obviously will improve their ability to help using their own observation and skills. (One of the largest anxieties for the partner during Childbirth is the feeling of helplessness)

Session can start from 32 weeks. On a one-on-one, 4 sessions are usual, scheduled once a week.

Larger groups can take up to six sessions.

The course is backed up by CDs to reinforce focus between sessions.

I also offer a free consultation to answer any questions you may have relating to your situation.
